Thanksgiving has come and gone.
We had a nice long break!
I started festivities off with a trip to the N.Platte River in WY,
where I caught the most beautiful brown trout I've ever seen.
Jacob had a hockey tournament, and that meant games every day.
Our family activities centered on Jacob's hockey tournament, and mtn biking close to home.

Toaday was the last Bobcat Football game of the season.
They ended the season in fine fashion... with some good play and a win.

I always feel like the Holiday Season begins with Halloween.
In keeping with what has become a long standing tradition, the Ryner's spent a fun filled week with us.
As usual, the weather was a balmy 80 degrees one day, and 9" of snow the next.
Peter and Dorine got to see their share of Jacob's football and hockey play, as well as enjoying the local amenities.
The big news this Halloween was Jacob and his buddies un-escorted Trick or Treat adventure. They went out by themselves, and
did just fine...no injuries and no complaints from any neighbors (yet).

Jacob has a football game Saturday at 9am in Erie.
He's got a hockey game Saturday at 5pm and Sunday at 3pm at BVICE.
It's about as nice as nice gets right now...warm sunny days, and cool nights.

Jacob has a football game Saturday at 10am in Lafayette. The results from hockey tryouts have been posted,
and Jacob made Squirt B...looks like 6 months of youth hockey.
Congrats Jake!
I'm planning on attending the Great American Beer Festival in Denver on Saturday afternoon, and hope to get a
float/fish in on Sunday.
Beth's been working crazy hours, and is looking forward to some down time.

Not much new here. Jacob is quite busy
with school, football and hockey.
I'm up to the same old tricks,
and Beth is busy with work and driving Jacob around.

Jacob had his first football game this past
Saturday...they won (he had 2 touchdowns).
I took off after the game
and caught some big fish in South Park.

Beth and Jacob are in school mode. So
far, Beth seems to be enjoying her work.
Jacob is playing football, and
attending a weekly training camp to prepare for squirt hockey
tryouts. He really seems hooked on both sports. I'm adjusting
to life back in the burbs...hockey and shorter trips to the
rivers.
First
day of school for Beth and Jacob

This is the last week of summer vacation
for Beth and Jacob. Beth's gearing up for work, and Jacob is loving
football practice.
I have been on the N. Fork of the Shoshone River
(East Yellowstone), for a week. Catching a lot of trout!

Jacob celebrated birthday #9 yesterday. It
was a full day, right from the start. He picked up his football
equipment first thing in the morning...after opening his presents (of
course). We spent the day at an amusement park in Denver, and then
had a litle get together with his cousins- Adia and Matia.
7/30/2011
Spent our wedding anniversary floating the
Gunnison River, and ended the day at a riverside restaurant- Garlic Mikes
(excellent).
Today was birthday #45 for me (ouch), and it was quite a
fun filled day... went mtn biking early, then we had a nice float/fish on
the Ark, dinner and drinks in Salida, and then off the the rodeo at the
Chaffee County Fair. There was a really fun band that played late
into the night, after the rodeo ended.

Beth and Jacob are returning from a fun filled
visit with all the New Hampsire and Maine relatives.
I've been
travelling through Southern Colorado...the Rio Grande, Piedra,
Uncompahgre, and Animas Rivers.
